Batman and the Joker collide across a dramatically split cover in this January 1987 entry in DC's longest-running title, with a purple-clad Catwoman leaping dynamically into the fray above them. Alan Davis and Paul Neary bring real energy to the composition — the Dark Knight lunges forward with cape billowing, while the Joker's leering face dominates the lower half, all set against a backdrop of billowing smoke and Gotham architecture. With Mike W. Barr scripting and a story titled "The Last Laugh!", this is a fine example of the creative team firing on all cylinders.
