This 2016 issue of Detective Comics puts Jim Gordon front and center in a striking new light — clad in a USMC shirt and clutching dog tags, he looms large against a desert landscape as a shadowy Batman stands at his back. Guillem March's cover composition does a fine job of suggesting Gordon's military past, with swirling dust and the hint of a battlefield setting underscoring the story's title, "Our Gordon at War." Tomasi, Pasarin, Ryan, and Sotomayor bring their full talents to bear on what promises to be a compelling, character-driven chapter in Gordon's complicated history with the Batman mantle.
