A city in flames sets the stage as a massive, armored villain known as the Wrath looms triumphantly over a battered, fallen Batman — Jason Fabok's cover work making the power imbalance viscerally clear. The cover text declares "The Dark Knight Dethroned… by the Wrath!" and it's hard to argue with the imagery. Writer John Layman's New 52 run on Detective Comics delivers another chapter that puts Batman at a genuine disadvantage, and this 2013 issue makes a compelling case that the Wrath is not a threat to be taken lightly.
