Deathstroke #1
This volume collects the first eight issues of the 2011 Deathstroke series as part of DC's New 52 relaunch, written by Kyle Higgins and drawn by Joe Bennett. It follows the world's deadliest assassin as he faces a new threat tied to his past, including a mysterious organization known as the 'Gods of War' that challenges his skills and morality.
In "Gods of War," Deathstroke is sent to Russia on a mission to eliminate a target known only as Possum—only to find himself ambushed and nearly killed. Nursed back to health by the enigmatic I-Ching, Deathstroke must piece together the truth behind the deadly setup. Written and illustrated by Tony S. Daniel, with inks by Sandu Florea, colors by Tomeu Morey, and letters by Rob Leigh, the cover by Daniel and Florea captures the tension of a man on the edge.
