DC Comics Presents #62
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis October 1983 team-up puts Superman alongside the patriotic Freedom Fighters in a cover by Gil Kane that practically crackles with defiance — Uncle Sam leads the charge front and center, fists clenched, with Superman flying close behind and teammates including a bare-chested brawler, a white-suited figure, and a yellow-costumed speedster surging forward across a globe. They're rushing headlong into a forest of Nazi-uniformed hands and rifle barrels, and Uncle Sam's battle cry — "We beat 'em before — and we can beat 'em again!" — sets the tone perfectly for a story titled "Born on the Fourth of July." A rousing, visually energetic issue that brings together two very different corners of the DC Universe for what looks like a clash with some unmistakably dangerous adversaries.
