DC Comics Presents #21 pairs Superman with the stretchy sleuth the Elongated Man for "The Alien Epidemic!" — and the cover by Ross Andru and Dick Giordano wastes no time setting up the tension. A berserk, oversized Elongated Man dominates the image, his elongated limbs coiling around Superman's cape while he clutches a distressed woman in yellow, as Superman strains urgently to contain him — the cover caption asking whether the Man of Steel can stop his teammate before the Fortress of Solitude is wrecked. It's a wonderfully vivid team-up premise from 1980, with Gerry Conway writing and Joe Staton on interior art.
