“The Prince Part 2”

Part of Marvel's 2009 Dark Reign crossover event, this issue continues "The Prince Part 2" with Daken front and center — claws drawn, expression cool and calculating — as the Fantastic Four's Thing, Invisible Woman, and Human Torch loom dramatically behind him in an imposing collage of flame and stone. Daniel Way and Marjorie Liu's collaboration, paired with Giuseppe Camuncoli's interiors, makes this a compelling chapter in Daken's time wielding the Wolverine mantle. Leinil Francis Yu's cover crackles with tension, promising a confrontation between Norman Osborn's dark hero and Marvel's First Family.

Norman tries to keep his Avengers under control but Daken continues to manipulate the team and points Hawkeye out as a possible traitor. After their recent explosive encounter, Daken seeks out the Fantastic Four and tells them that he is leery of Osborn and wants to work with them from the inside at their next encounter. Their meeting is being spied on by both Hawkeye and Norman so, to make things look legit, the Thing belts Daken out of the building.
