Onofrio Catacchio, born 28 October 1964 in Bari, Italy, is a versatile comics artist and writer who has worked extensively in both Italian and American comics. He currently lives and works in Bologna. Catacchio began his career in 1988 by creating the character Stella Rossa, which debuted in the magazines *Fuego* and *Nova Express* before being collected by Granata Press and later reprinted by Kappa Edizioni. For Granata Press, he also adapted and illustrated the *Coliandro* stories, based on the works of mystery writer Carlo Lucarelli. As a writer, he penned *Offspring from Hell* for artist Andrea Accardi.

Since 1995, Catacchio has contributed numerous episodes to Sergio Bonelli Publishing’s *Nathan Never* series. He adapted and designed *The Ballad of Corazza* by Wu Ming 2, and with Andrea Balzola created *Freaks’ Farm*, a parody of George Orwell’s novel. In 2006, he illustrated the stage production *Gaijin!* by Luigi Bernardi, with whom he also created *Habemus Fantomas*. Catacchio worked as an inker on Marvel’s *Dark Wolverine* in 2010. His 2020 graphic biography *Pollock Confidential* was followed by work on the long-running *Harry Dickson* series, with *Mysterion* in 2023 and *The Court of Terror* in 2024, published by Dupuis and in English by Cinebook. He teaches comics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna.
