In "Like a Chicken Without a Head," a brilliant but ridiculed doctor proposes a radical surgical procedure: keeping the heart alive after head removal, using artificial means to extend surgical time. When his peers dismiss him, he finally gives in to frustration—only to prove his point by literally removing his own head and declaring, "The world isn't ready for us."

In "Dangerous Doll," a humble man discovers a seemingly ordinary doll in a field and gives it to his lame daughter Jo. What he doesn’t realize is that the doll is no toy—it’s an alien child stranded on Earth, secretly moving and speaking when alone. When the boy’s parents finally arrive, he asks the father to reward Jo for her kindness, and in return, the alien grants her a miraculous cure—and leaves behind a gold bar.
