Constantine: The Hellblazer #4
John Constantine looms large on this striking 2015 cover by Riley Rossmo — cigarette dangling from his lips, piercing blue eyes fixed on you with cool menace — while below him, a pair of skeletal figures walk a smoky, neon-tinged street, trailing wisps of vivid pink energy that wind their way up through the whole composition. The vertical design feels deliberately unsettling, folding the supernatural right into Constantine's silhouette as if the ghosts are literally part of him. Writers Ming Doyle and James Tynion IV, alongside artists Vanesa Del Rey and Chris Visions, continue what is shaping up to be one of the more stylistically daring takes on the trenchcoat-wearing occultist of this era.
