Constantine: The Hellblazer #3
The third issue of DC's 2015 revival of Constantine's solo adventures arrives with a striking Riley Rossmo cover that says a great deal with carefully composed imagery: a tall woman in white clutching a gun stands dominant over a crouching, disheveled John Constantine, who sparks a small flame in his hand against a fractured Union Jack backdrop — while a pair of menacing, oversized eyes loom over them both. Writers Ming Doyle and James Tynion IV, with artists Doyle and Vanesa Del Rey bringing the interior pages to life, are clearly threading dark supernatural tension through Constantine's world. The visual power struggle on this cover alone makes "Delectable Young Things" a compelling chapter in this gritty, stylish series.
