Conan the Barbarian #89
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe Sword and the Serpent Men" sets the stage for a confrontation that leaps right off the cover — Conan, axe in hand, struggles atop the massive coiled body of a serpentine creature while the glowering visage of Thoth-Amon looms enormous in the background, his sinister presence framing a writhing mass of green serpents nearby. John Buscema's pencils and Ernie Chan's inks give the whole scene a muscular, kinetic energy that was Marvel at its sword-and-sorcery best in 1978. If you're a fan of Hyborian Age adventure with genuine menace baked right into the imagery, this is one to seek out.
