In "De vallei der verloren vrouwen," Conan ventures into a cursed valley where the spirits of forgotten women dwell, drawn by the plight of Livia, once held captive by King Bajujh of the Bakalah Tribe. After slaying the king and freeing Livia, she flees only to fall into the clutches of the Vale’s dark guardians, where Conan must face a monstrous winged demon-bat to save her once more.

In "Fluisterende schimmen," Conan flees after killing the Bamula high-priest, seeking refuge in an ancient castle where shadows stir with unseen dread. That night, he witnesses a chilling vision of demons slaughtering a group of Stygians—leaving him to wonder if the castle itself is alive with vengeance.
