In "The Keepers of the Crypt," Conan ventures into the ruined city of Lanjau, where he battles a monstrous lizard and teams up with a nameless mercenary to uncover its lost treasure. Together, they face undead guardians bound to the crypt—defeated only by sunlight—before an earthquake seals their fate beneath the ruins. Emerging near a village, Conan reunites with Jenna, and when soldiers arrive to capture him, the two flee on horseback into the unknown. Written by Robert E. Howard and Roy Thomas, with art by Barry Smith and inks by Tom Sutton and Tom Palmer, this 1995 Marvel classic features dynamic coloring by Marie Severin and Stan Goldberg, and a striking cover by Barry Windsor-Smith, John Romita, and Sal Buscema.
