The X-Men are searching for the missing 198 but are forced to fight off a Sentinel. Val and Bishop agree to try and devise a waiting game to keep the missing mutants safe until the pardon goes through. Lazer has the twisted mutant Johnny Dee prepare to use his Puppet Master like powers to stir the pot until it boils over. The X-Men reach the Arizona bunker where Domino is hiding the 198 but they are confronted by the government forces led by Bishop. The two factions agree to hold off on hostilities but Johnny Dee controls Cyclops and has him fire a full strength optic blast right at Bishop.
