Civil War: X-Men #3

Nov 2006 · Marvel · 2.99 USD; 3.75 CAD

In *Civil War: X-Men #3* (2006), Cyclops—under the control of Johnny Dee—unleashes his full power against Bishop, while Sentinel Squad One and government forces clash with the X-Men. Inside a bunker housing half of the 198, tensions rise as mutants debate whether to stay sheltered or join the fight. Val and Reyes uncover a shocking truth: Lazer has been manipulating Johnny Dee to prevent the mutants’ pardon. Though the pardon is granted and the fighting stops, the bunker’s remote lockdown triggers a deadly bomb threat—leaving the fate of those inside hanging in the balance. Written by David Hine and illustrated by Yanick Paquette, Aaron Lopresti, and Serge LaPointe, with colors by Stephane Peru and letters by VC's Russ Wooton, the cover by Juan Doe captures the escalating dread.

Cyclops, being controlled by Johnny Dee, attacks Bishop with his full power. The government forces backed up by Sentinel Squad One battle the X-Men. Inside of the bunker, the mutants are split between staying safe inside or going out to assist the X-Men. Val and Reyes discover Lazer has been using Johnny Dee to keep the mutants from being pardoned. The pardon comes through, however, and hostilities cease before too much damage is done. Unfortunately, the bunker in which half of the 198 are staying is remotely locked down and Lazer sets the bombs stored within the bunker to explode.
