The second chapter of "Going Home" arrives with one of the most quietly striking covers in Cerebus's long run — a photorealistic landscape by Gerhard showing a wide rural field, a treeline stretching across the horizon, and a pale moon hanging in a dusky sky. There's a stillness to it that feels genuinely evocative, suggesting a journey measured not in miles but in something more interior. Dave Sim and Gerhard continue their collaboration on the story within, and this 1998 Aardvark-Vanaheim issue makes clear that the series still had plenty of ambition left to spend.
