The reproduced original cover by Dave Sim shows the stout aardvark warrior front and center, sword drawn, standing before a dungeon cell whose barred window reveals two figures peering out — all framed by a massive coiled serpent at his feet. Sim's clean, expressive linework gives the scene a wonderfully deadpan tension that fans of the series will find immediately appealing.
