In "Earth Death!", a weary Nick Fury dozes in his office when a call from Val interrupts him—news of a UFO landing in mid-town Manhattan. A mysterious alien named Vaengr emerges, offering the Prism of Miracles to end hatred, crime, and war, but as Fury, Val, and Dugan investigate the craft, they uncover a terrifying deception. The alien transforms into a monstrous insect-like being, reducing Val and Dugan to ash before gloating over Earth’s impending doom. Fury jolts awake—only to be told by Dugan about a fresh report of a UFO sighting.
