Issue #21 of DC's Blue Devil promises a wild February 1986 ride, billed right on the cover as a "Hi-Octane Extravaganza!" — and the image delivers on that promise. Blue Devil himself leaps between a speeding pink convertible — its alarmed blonde driver looking on — and the massive, jagged-toothed maw of Roadmaster, a monstrous vehicle-creature bearing down with energy blasts already flying. Cover pencils by Paris Cullins and inks by Gary Martin give the scene a kinetic, colorful urgency that's hard to look away from.
