Black Kiss #[nn]
A collected edition of the 2003 series 'Black Kiss', published by Norma Editorial. This volume compiles the complete story arc of the original comic, known for its dark, erotic, and surreal narrative by creator Howard Chaykin. The collection brings together the issues that explore a twisted tale of sex, violence, and supernatural intrigue in a gritty urban setting.
Black Kiss #nn (2003) features the story "Capítulo 1," written by Howard Chaykin and Francisco Pérez Navarro, with art and inks by Howard Chaykin and lettering by Fernando Miranda. The cover, also by Howard Chaykin, presents the issue's distinctive visual style.
In "Capítulo 2," jazz musician and former addict Cass Pollack is pulled into a dangerous game when Laine and Grove enlist him to steal a forbidden film from the Vatican—offering him an alibi in the wake of his wife and daughter’s murder, which has made him the prime suspect in the eyes of both the police and the Mafia. With his past haunting every step, Pollack must navigate betrayal, desperation, and a web of secrets that threaten to consume him before the heist even begins.
In "Capítulo 5," Pollack follows a lead from Laine and Grove—two men who look nearly identical—after Father Murtaugh’s death, tracking down a missing reel. His search leads him to the eerie occult bookshop known as "The Oath of Incannabulata," where he steals a tome detailing the elusive "Order of Bonniface."
In "Capítulo 6," Pollack follows a lead from the eerily identical Laine and Grove to track down a missing reel after Father Murtaugh's death. His trail takes him first to the occult bookshop The Oath of Incannabulata, where he steals a tome on the mysterious Order of Bonniface, then deep into the unsettling rituals of a funeral home called Tanas, where famous figures perform strange rites in silence.
In "Capítulo 7," Jo investigates the mysterious legacy of Murtaugh and stumbles upon an invitation to the secretive Order of Bonniface. Attending their gathering, she uncovers a chilling connection between the film industry’s golden age and a cult devoted to Charles 'Bubba' Kenton, a legendary 1920s star whose fame was intertwined with that of actress Beverly Grove.
In "Capítulo 8," Jo confronts the chilling truth behind her father's transformation and the secret past that binds her to a vampire's legacy. As the web of betrayal unfolds, she finds herself drawn into a deadly game where vengeance and blood converge—leaving her to decide how far she’ll go to reclaim what was taken.
In "Capítulo 9," the Order hunts a stolen film reel that captures Beverly Grove and Bubbau Kenton in a compromising, explicit moment—evidence that Grove’s youthful appearance is a lie. With the footage in hand, they aim to exploit Kenton’s rumored ability to turn humans into vampires, hoping to achieve eternal youth through his power.
In "Capítulo 10," Magda—a young woman and Grove’s granddaughter—pleads with him to turn only her into a vampire, her motives tangled in secrets from her past as the nun who stole a reel from Father Murtaugh. As tensions rise and those around Pollack pull him in opposing directions, the fragile balance of power begins to unravel, leaving him trapped in a moment where survival feels uncertain.
