“Black Kiss Book Five”

"Black Kiss Book Five" delivers another twist in Howard Chaykin’s dark, atmospheric tale, with Pollack chasing a cryptic lead through the city’s underbelly. After Father Murtaugh’s death, Laine and Grove—two men who look nearly identical—guide Pollack to an occult bookshop called "The Oath of Incannabulata," where he steals a mysterious volume on the enigmatic Order of Bonniface. Chaykin’s stark, noir-inspired art, enhanced by Ella Vine’s intricate details and Ken Bruzenak’s sharp lettering, brings the story’s creeping dread to life, while the cover by Chaykin himself sets the tone with its brooding, shadowed intensity.

Laine and Grove (who look virtually identical) provide Pollack with a lead as to where the reel is after the death of Father Murtaugh. This takes Pollack first of all to an occult bookshop called "The Oath of Incannabulata" where he steals a copy of a book about the mysterious "Order of Bonniface".
