A sunglasses-wearing villain looms large over a giant puzzle cube, its colorful faces fragmented into the likenesses of Black Canary, Huntress, and their teammates — a striking visual that frames the Birds of Prey as pieces in someone else's dangerous game. The bold tagline "Game On!" sets the tone for "Perfect Pitch Part One," the opening chapter of a new arc from writer Gail Simone. This December 2005 issue features a cover penciled by Adriana Melo and inked by Will Conrad that does a wonderful job of putting the team at the mercy of a confident, calculating adversary.
