Batman: Shadow of the Bat #28

Part of the sprawling 1994 "Knightquest: The Crusade" crossover, this issue of Batman: Shadow of the Bat puts Commissioner Gordon squarely in the spotlight with the story "Commissioner Gordon: The Long Dark Night." The cover by Brian Stelfreeze is a striking portrait of Gordon — trenchcoat-clad and grim-faced — as a gun erupts in a dramatic burst of golden light and shrapnel right in his hand.
