Part three of "The Last Arkham" finds Batman in a grim predicament — shackled in chains against the damp, pipe-lined walls of what can only be Arkham Asylum itself, his cape tattered and his gaze turned defiantly upward. Brian Stelfreeze's cover renders the Dark Knight with remarkable muscularity and atmosphere, the green-tinted stonework and heavy iron restraints making the stakes feel viscerally immediate. Alan Grant and Norm Breyfogle's four-part story was one of 1992's most compelling Batman reads, and this penultimate chapter promises no shortage of tension.
