Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #167

The concluding chapter of Dwayne McDuffie's "Don't Blink" arc arrives with a cover by Brian Stelfreeze that frames the tension beautifully — Batman surges forward through a burning, smoke-filled night, cradling a small blond child in his arms while a green-tinted, unsettling face looms large in the foreground. That juxtaposition of the Dark Knight's protective urgency against the threatening presence watching from the shadows sets a genuinely compelling tone for this finale. With interior art by Val Semeiks and inks by Dan Green, this 2003 series closer is a fine example of Legends of the Dark Knight at its most atmospheric.
