☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis massive omnibus collects the opening chapters of the iconic '90s Batman saga, beginning with the introduction of the brutal new villain Bane, who systematically breaks Batman both physically and mentally. It includes the lead-up to the infamous 'Knightfall' storyline, where an exhausted Batman faces a gauntlet of escaped Arkham inmates before Bane delivers his crippling blow. This new edition gathers issues from the 'Batman,' 'Detective Comics,' and related titles of the era, presenting the complete narrative in a single oversized volume.
In "KnightsEnd Part 1: Spirit of the Bat," Bane—incarcerated at Blackgate and undergoing therapy for his Venom withdrawal—begins a quiet, calculated transformation, spending six months in solitary to rebuild himself. As he forms alliances and plans his escape, he targets a Venom supplier, only to be confronted by Batman, who challenges his claim of redemption. Written by Chuck Dixon and illustrated by Graham Nolan, with inks by Eduardo Barreto, colors by Adrienne Roy, and letters by Bill Oakley, this pivotal chapter unfolds with tense introspection and rising stakes. Kelley Jones delivers the striking cover, capturing Bane’s intensity in stark, haunting detail.
