Batman '66 Meets Steed and Mrs. Peel #2
The second chapter of this delightful 2016 DC/BOOM! Studios crossover brings together two titans of 1960s cool, and Michael Allred's cover captures the spirit perfectly — a massive, sunglasses-wearing villain looms over the composition while Batman and a black-clad Catwoman stand below, Robin crouches watchfully atop a rocky ledge, and two stylish silhouettes cast against bold orange and yellow rays announce that Steed and Mrs. Peel are very much in the picture. The pop-art energy is unmistakably swinging-sixties, making this co-production between Ian Edginton, Matthew Dow Smith, and colorists Wendy Broome and Carrie Strachan feel like a genuine meeting of two beloved spy-fi worlds. If the cover is any indication, "Lord Ffogg Plays His Hand" promises the kind of suave villainy and cape-and-bowler heroics that fans of both franchises have been waiting for.
