“The Button Part 1”

In "The Button Part 1," Batman confronts a mystery tied to a strange smiley face button left behind by Wally West’s sudden appearance from the Speed Force. As he investigates in the Batcave, a vision of his father in the Flashpoint timeline flashes before him—just as Saturn Girl, a patient at Arkham Asylum, eerily predicts the death of a hockey player. When Professor Zoom arrives first, attacking Batman and stealing the button, the villain collapses moments later, dead. Written by Tom King and illustrated by Jason Fabok, with colors by Brad Anderson and letters by Deron Bennett, this pivotal issue features a cover by Jason Fabok.

Saturn Girl, currently a patient at Arkham Asylum, correctly predicts the death of a hockey player. In the Batcave, Batman is examining the smiley face button that was left behind when Wally West appeared to him from the speed force, and he sees a vision of his father as the Batman in the Flashpoint universe. Batman calls The Flash for assistance, but Professor Zoom arrives first and attacks Batman. With Batman beaten and injured, Zoom takes the button and abruptly vanishes. He re-appears moments later and collapses dead.
