B.P.R.D.: Garden of Souls #3

The third chapter of B.P.R.D.'s "Garden of Souls" arc arrives with a hauntingly striking cover by Mike Mignola — a cluster of dark, multi-lensed mechanical helmets looms against a black background, surrounded by delicate purple flowers and a white bird, while a framed illustration of a sharp-toothed serpentine creature hovers unsettlingly in the composition. It's a beautifully strange juxtaposition of the organic and the mechanical that captures the B.P.R.D.'s world perfectly. Mike Mignola, John Arcudi, and Guy Davis were firing on all cylinders in 2007, and this issue is a fine example of the series at its atmospheric best.
