B.P.R.D.: Garden of Souls #4
The fourth chapter of B.P.R.D.'s "Garden of Souls" arc arrives from Dark Horse with a cover by Mike Mignola that's as unsettling as anything in the Bureau's case files — a pale, hollow-eyed figure in a Victorian blue dress sits with hands folded, her glowing yellow eyes staring outward from the darkness while a shadowy horned presence looms behind her, flanked by strange mechanical or occult imagery. The muted blue and black palette gives the whole image a cold, ghostly weight that perfectly suits a series built around paranormal dread. With Mike Mignola and John Arcudi writing and Guy Davis on interior art, this 2007 installment delivers the moody, atmospheric storytelling the B.P.R.D. series does so well.
