Atomic Mouse grins front and center on this cheerful 1961 Charlton issue, his big blue ears and broad smile dominating a bright yellow cover alongside a cast of friendly animal faces — including a smaller mouse, a rabbit, and a whiskered elder character. Five circular medallions along the bottom spotlight additional Blue Bird Comics characters: Wyatt Earp, Li'l Genius, Timmy the Timid Ghost, Freddy, and Black Fury, making this a genuine showcase for Charlton's animated lineup of the era. Cover art by Pat Masulli gives the whole thing a warm, inviting energy, and with Joe Gill writing and George Wildman on interior art, "Northern Disaster" promises the kind of lighthearted fun that made Atomic Mouse a staple of the 10-cent rack.
