Al Fago's pint-sized superhero gets the monument treatment in this 1961 Charlton charmer — the cover shows a proud statue of Atomic Mouse atop a pedestal reading "To Our Hero Atomic Mouse, Erected by the Citizens of Mouseville for His Outstanding Good Deeds Throughout the Universe," while a scheming villain in yellow crouches nearby with a TNT plunger, clearly up to no good. Meanwhile, a gleeful accomplice swoops in from above and the real Atomic Mouse dashes in from the upper left, cape flying and ready to spoil the whole rotten plan. With "Once a Hero" on the docket and Al Fago's warm, expressive linework on full display, this is a delightful ten-cent package of fun.
