Armor learns that her mother and brother have been killed and the X-Men travel with her to Japan so she can attend the funeral. Elsewhere, Roxxon has hired Mentallo to join an exploratory crew headed for Monster Island looking for oil. Mentallo is supposed to keep the crew safe from the monsters but he has plans of his own.
