Feb 2007 · Marvel · 2.99 USD; 3.75 CAD
“Unstoppable [Part One]”

In "Unstoppable [Part One]," the X-Men face a dire threat aboard S.W.O.R.D.'s ship as Agent Brand reveals a prophecy that Colossus will stand in their way—while a missile hurtles toward Earth. With the team stranded and their ship under attack, they must rely on cunning and courage to survive, as Sydren confirms Emma Frost is free of Cassandra Nova’s control. Joss Whedon’s sharp storytelling and John Cassaday’s dynamic art—both interior and on the cover—bring high stakes and emotional weight to this pivotal chapter in the Astonishing X-Men saga.

On the Breakworld Aghanne presides over the funeral of a baby and professes not to believe in the prophecies of the ship's destruction. On S.W.O.R.D.'s ship, the X-Men, Hisako, Ord, and Danger arrive. After some fighting, Agent Brand explains the prophecy that Colossus will stop them, they have a missile targeting Earth, and she needs superheroes to win this fight. Sydren declares Emma Frost free of Cassandra Nova. Agent Brand uses Ord to bait Powerlord Kruun, but he moves too fast, and their ship is intercepted and destroyed, leaving them about to be exposed to the vacuum of space.
