As they try to understand his bitterness, Archie learns that true holiday spirit isn’t just about celebration—it’s about showing kindness, even to those who seem ungrateful. Written by Frank Doyle and brought to life with Dan DeCarlo’s signature art, Rudy Lapick’s inks, Barry Grossman’s colors, and Bill Yoshida’s letters, this 1995 Double Digest story offers a warm, heartfelt twist on a classic season. The cover by Stan Goldberg and Henry Scarpelli captures the festive mood with a touch of whimsy.
Jo and the gang scramble to find a tree for the school Christmas party on a tight budget, leading them to the unlikely solution of chopping down their own. With a mix of enthusiasm and questionable planning, they head into the woods—armed with nothing but determination and a saw.
In "The Greatest Gift," Archie and the girls encounter a grumpy shopkeeper who despises Christmas, challenging their belief that the season is always joyful. When Archie wonders if they truly appreciate the holidays or just go through the motions, he decides to test that idea by trying to bring a little cheer to the man who seems to have lost it all.
In "Wrap Session," Archie finds himself in a sticky situation when he overhears Betty and Veronica both wishing he’d wrap their gifts—only to realize he’s terrible at it. Forced to swap gifts and ask for help from the very girls he’s trying to impress, he’s caught between two very different styles of wrapping.
In "Circle Saga," Betty finds herself unexpectedly paired with Jean, a French exchange student, when Archie skips winter break to go skiing with Veronica. But when Archie learns Jean is a guy—and strikingly handsome—he abruptly cancels his trip and starts shadowing the pair, claiming he’s there to “protect” Betty.
When the school board threatens to replace the beloved cafeteria with vending machines, Archie, Betty, and Jughead team up with their classmates to protect Miss Beazly’s job—turning lunchtime into a full-blown campaign of snacks, schemes, and surprisingly heartfelt persuasion.
In "The Turncoat," Jo and her friends visit Clyde Didit’s igloo before heading to a department store to return their Christmas gifts. Melody tries to exchange a bikini she finds too modest, only to discover the store’s customers aren’t convinced it’s covering too much.
