“The Switching Hour”

In "The Switching Hour," Archie's attempt to get help with a math problem leads to a surprising mix-up when Veronica calls Betty, setting off a chain of events that leaves the gang scrambling to find him. The moment Betty, all dolled up and ready for a romantic moment, suddenly realizes Archie’s missing, the girls race to track him down—only to discover him in an unexpected spot, sharing a quiet moment with Dilton’s cousin under a tree. With Dan DeCarlo’s classic art and Frank Doyle’s playful script, this 1996 Double Digest tale captures the charm and chaos of Riverdale’s most mischievous hour. Archie asks Veronica for help explaining an equation with improper fractions. Veronica calls Betty and says she's sending Archie over. Betty quickly gets her hair done, puts on makeup, etc. She takes one look at the problem, gives Archie the answer, then tries to make out with him. Veronica sees what's happening, argues with Betty, and the girls realize that Archie's gone. They finally find him with Dilton's beautiful cousin under a tree, with Archie's head in her lap. She's impressed that Archie got the answer, and Archie simply says "it's nothing when you know how".
