“Pirate's Den (and Pirates Now)”

A giant "Grade A Dyn-O-Mite" can — complete with a lit fuse — dominates this colorful 1981 digest cover, with a scene of Archie and his friends on the can's label hinting at the laughs packed inside. Surrounding the explosive centerpiece, familiar faces pop out in bursts: Jughead, Betty, Veronica, Reggie, Little Jinx, Li'l Jinx's pal The Bee, and more, all rendered in Dan DeCarlo's crisp, energetic linework. With an anthology promising stories, jokes, and puzzles, this full-color digest delivers plenty of Riverdale charm at a great value.

Mr. Weatherbee is feeling down because school cutbacks made him cancel a portrait that was to be made of him to hang on the walls of Riverdale High. Archie finds a former student of Riverdale who is now a famous artist and convinces him to paint the portrait for free. The only condition the artist makes is that Archie has to pose in the buff - or close to it - for a painting for him.
