Archie and Me #67
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis August 1974 entry in the long-running Archie and Me series captures the redhead from Riverdale in fine form — the cover's two-panel strip shows Archie showing off aerial paper-airplane tricks in the school hallway, cheerfully asking Betty and Veronica whether they'd prefer "a full loop or a side bank," only for an irate principal to appear in the bottom panel and offer his own suggestion: "a power dive to the detention room." The comedic timing is pure Archie, with the principal's fury contrasting perfectly against Archie's blissfully clueless expression. At just 25 cents, it's a charming snapshot of the easygoing, gag-driven humor that made the Archie Series a staple of 1970s comics racks.
