About this Collection

Archie and Me Vol. 1 collects the early issues of the 2018 series that reimagines the classic Archie Comics title. This volume focuses on the bond between Archie Andrews and his father, Fred, exploring their relationship through a mix of humor and heartfelt moments. Alongside familiar faces from Riverdale like Jughead, Betty, and Reggie, the stories highlight the everyday adventures and challenges of the Andrews family.

In "Muscle Bound!", Archie recounts his misadventures as a camp counselor through a series of hilarious flashbacks triggered by photos, with each image serving as a punchline. When he tries to snap a nighttime shot of a forest animal, his trip wire backfires spectacularly—landing Mr. Weatherbee in the lake, still in his pajamas. Written and illustrated by Joe Edwards, with inks by Jon D'Agostino, this lighthearted tale captures classic Archie charm, all framed by Dan DeCarlo’s nostalgic cover art and Rudy Lapick’s inks.

While showing photos of his experience as a camp counselor, Archie remembers the stories leading to the pictures and each photo is used as a punch line for the story. Thinking he can get a photo of an animal during the night, Archie sets up a trip wire to his camera, but Mr. Weatherbee trips it and falls into the lake in his pajamas.
