“Campaign”

A school election has clearly gotten out of hand in this June 1966 entry in the Archie Series — the cafeteria hallway scene on the cover shows a full-blown brawl between students waving "Archie Is Our Boy!" and "Reggie All the Way!" campaign signs, while a wide-eyed bald authority figure in a blue suit looks on in alarm. Up top, a small vignette shows a figure rocketing away on a chair, hinting the chaos may have already reached comic extremes. Cover pencils by Bill Vigoda and inks by Marty Epp give the whole riotous scene that bright, energetic Archie house style that made the series such fun in the Silver Age.
