Archie and Me #7
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe gang's divided loyalty has never been funnier — Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, and a cheerful nurse gather around a hospitalized Mr. Weatherbee, presenting an enormous wreath that reads "To Our Principal — Get Well Soon! But Not Too Soon!", while the banner strip above captures what looks like a very satisfying kick sending the beleaguered principal airborne. Dan DeCarlo's pencils and Rudy Lapick's inks give the scene that warm, rubber-limbed charm Riverdale fans adore, balancing genuine affection with perfectly timed mischief. At just 12 cents, this 1966 issue of Archie and Me is a delightful snapshot of the series at its most warmly comedic.

Tired of being viewed as a villain by his students, Mr. Weatherbee tries to change his image by looking kindly on everything the students do, even whistling at Veronica when she walks down the hall in short shorts. But most of the kids are just horrified by his new behavior, while Archie and Reggie try to take advantage of it.
