Archie #549
Summer fun hits full throttle on this 2004 issue, with Archie roaring across the water on a yellow jet ski — life vest on, grin wide — while an elderly woman in the boat above declares she can "go go go" with a jet ski of her own, much to the amusement of a dark-haired young woman (Veronica, by the look of her) urging everyone to get moving. Stan Goldberg's pencils and Bob Smith's inks give the whole sun-splashed scene an irresistible energy, from the churning wake to the bold "VROOM! VROOM!" sound effects. George Gladir's story "Wonder Women" promises the kind of lighthearted generational comedy that makes Archie Comics such a reliable good time.
