“Money Talks (Too Much)”

In "Money Talks (Too Much)," Archie tries to impress Veronica with a new jacket, only to be outshone by Reggie’s more expensive one—then outdone again when Reggie splurges on lavish flowers. The rivalry escalates at Veronica’s house, where Reggie’s confidence begins to unravel in ways neither he nor Archie expected. Written by Frank Doyle and illustrated by Harry Lucey, with a cover by Samm Schwartz, this 1962 classic captures the timeless tension between friendship and pride, all in a 12-cent comic.

Archie shows off his new jacket to Jughead at Pop's. Reggie comes in doing the same thing, but his jacket is obviously more expensive. Archie buys some flowers for Veronica, and Reggie does too, only bigger and better ones. Feeling outclassed, Archie gives up. But Reggie's ego gets the better of him at Veronica's house.
