Archie finds himself in a delightfully relatable predicament on Dan DeCarlo's cover — seated alone at a chess board, he muses aloud, "Did you ever turn over a new leaf… only to find that someone had torn out the next page?" It's a perfectly wry little moment that captures the series' warm, self-deprecating humor at its 1960 best. With Frank Doyle writing and Bill Vigoda on art, the interior story "Beauty or Duty!" promises plenty more of that trademark Riverdale charm.
