Arak / Son of Thunder #24
In "Twixt Gog and Magog!", the ancient curse of Gog and Magog awakens in Albracca, unleashing colossal bone-constructed monsters instead of the expected armies. As fire becomes the key to their defeat, Arak faces temptation from Angelica, while Brunello and Satyricus rescue Valda from Haakon. With the chaos resolved, Johannes allows the strangers to depart, restoring Albracca to its place beyond time—later to be known as Prester John. Written by Roy and Dann Thomas, with dynamic art by Adrian Gonzales and inks by Alfredo Alcala, this 1983 DC adventure features bold colors by Adrienne Roy and sharp lettering by David Cody Weiss, all capped by a striking cover by Alcala.

The curse of Gog and Magog is unleashed upon Albracca. But, while everyone was expecting two mouldering old armies to emerge, they end up with two enormous monsters made up of the bones of the ancient warriors. Fire proves useful in bringing them down, though. In other news, Brunello and Satyricus rescue Valda from ravishment by Haakon, and Arak resists the temptations of Angelica. Finally, when all the dust has settled, Johannes permits all the strangers to leave the city before he returns Albracca to its rightful place outside time. In a later era, he will become known as Prester John.
