Arak / Son of Thunder #23
In "In the Belly of Baphomet," Arak and Malagigi accompany Johannes as he journeys into the realm of the arch-demon Baphomet, where a deadly riddle must be answered to unleash the ancient entity Gog upon Angelica—risking his city’s destruction. With the fate of their world hanging in the balance, Malagigi faces his own trial, answering a riddle to free the Magog in a desperate bid to counter the threat. The issue blends high-stakes mysticism with a surprising moment of levity as Haakon watches Valda and Angelica clash in a fierce wrestling match. Written by Roy and Dann Thomas, with art by Adrian Gonzales and inks by Alfredo Alcala, and a cover by Gonzales and Alcala, this 1983 DC adventure delivers a richly atmospheric tale of myth, peril, and unexpected humor.

Arak and Malagigi are along for the ride when Johannes (riding a pentagram) travels to Baphomet's realm. He plans to ask the arch-demon to release an ancient evil, the Gog, upon Angelica, even if it means the destruction of his own city. He answers the necessary riddle correctly, and Malagigi ventures to answer another riddle to free the Magog to counter the Gog. He also answers correctly, and they all travel back to their own realm to await possible armageddon. On a lighter note, Haakon gets to witness a nasty wrestling match between Valda and Angelica.
