Aquaman #2
Aquaman #2 (2013) features the character Aquaman in a story titled "Die Anderen," written by Geoff Johns and Carolin Hidalgo, with art by Ivan Reis, inks by Joe Prado, colors by Rod Reis, and letters by RAM. The cover, illustrated by Ivan Reis and inked by Joe Prado, presents a striking visual of the underwater hero.
In "Die Anderen," Arthur and Mera seek answers about an Atlantean artifact from the Trench, only to find themselves drawn into a deadly mystery when Ya'wara, a member of the secretive group known as The Others, arrives to kill Stephen Shin—whom she blames for the murder of Kahina, the Seer. As past ties resurface and old alliances fracture, Arthur must navigate a web of betrayal among those who once stood beside him.
In "Die Anderen, Kapitel 2," as Arthur and Ya'Wara pursue Black Manta for Kahina’s death, Mera turns to Dr. Shin for answers—seeking the hidden history of Aquaman and the Others, a past that may hold the key to the present.
In "Die Anderen, Kapitel 3," Black Manta's vendetta escalates as he targets the Prisoner of War, while Arthur and Ya'wara fight off Manta's forces in the Amazon. Dr. Shin's revelations about his ties to Arthur and Thomas Curry—and to Black Manta—add a dangerous layer of history to the conflict.
In "Die Anderen, Kapitel 4," the Operative slips into Black Manta’s hidden base on a desperate hunt for answers, while Arthur and Ya’Wara race to intervene as Manta turns his fury on a captive. As tensions rise beneath the sea, Mera learns a devastating truth from Dr. Shin—Arthur’s father died years ago during a clash with Manta, and in a moment of rage, Arthur unknowingly killed Manta’s father. The past and present collide in a storm of secrets and buried grudges.
In "Die Anderen, Kapitel 5," Aquaman and the Others race to stop Black Manta, who has seized Shin and dragged him to the tomb of the Dead King of Atlantis, intent on forcing him to reveal the location of a long-lost Atlantean artifact. With time running out and ancient secrets stirring beneath the ocean floor, the fate of the artifact—and the balance of power in the deep—hangs in the balance.
In "Die Anderen, Kapitel 6," Aquaman races to stop Black Manta from wielding a devastating Atlantean artifact, thrusting him into a clash that draws in The Others and Mera. As the tide turns, Vostok makes a final stand to protect Arthur, pushing the battle to a breaking point.
In "Die Anderen, Finale," Aquaman and the Others close in on Black Manta for a final showdown, but not before Manta slips the artifact into the hands of a shadowy Atlantean faction with their own designs on Arthur. The stakes rise as ancient secrets and hidden loyalties come to light beneath the sea.
