On a busy city sidewalk, Animal Man hoists a struggling civilian overhead with one arm while onlookers — a frightened little girl, a wide-eyed boy, a startled older woman, and others — react with alarm all around him, the whole scene set against a movie-theater poster advertising "The Return of Red Thunder." Jae Lee's cover composition is cleverly layered, blending the mundane chaos of street life with superhero spectacle in a way that feels grounded and a little unsettling all at once. Part two of "Tights" arrives here in July 2013 with Jeff Lemire writing and John Paul Leon and Timothy Green II sharing interior art duties — a strong creative lineup for one of DC's New 52 standout titles.
