Amazing Adventures #23

Marvel's post-apocalyptic freedom fighter Killraven takes center stage in this March 1974 installment of Amazing Adventures, with a cover by Herb Trimpe and John Romita that throws him into a swarming tide of giant, vicious rats. Killraven grapples bare-handed with the beasts while a green-skinned companion falls beneath the onslaught, and a menacing figure commands the horde with the chilling cry "Strike, my pets — in the name of Rattack!" The cover copy gleefully boasts these creatures are "bigger than Ben, wilder than Willard, and out for blood," setting a wonderfully pulpy tone for Don McGregor and Herb Trimpe's "The Legend Assassins!
